This course is ideal for any staff with risk management responsibilities, in project, programme or operational activities, or who are involved in improving risk management practice in their organisation. Including; Operational; Risk; Business Change Managers and Directors.
Purpose of the course
Effective management of risk and informed risk-taking helps to improve performance through innovative approaches for managing the business, service delivery and value for money. Risk is often perceived as a negative but this course will show you it can equally be a positive force.

- Understand the differences between risk tolerance, risk appetite and risk exposure

The course will help prepare the delegate for the Foundation and Practitioner exams. After attending the course, delegates should feel confident in approaching risk management and aware of the use of different techniques that can assist in this task.

Additional Exam Information
The Foundation exam is a multiple-choice paper containing 75 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. This is a closed-book examination.The Practitioner exam is in an objective-testing format, 3 hours in length and contains 4 questions (worth 20 marks each), giving a maximum of 80 marks in the paper. You need to achieve a score of 50% to pass this paper. The exam is an 'open book' examination, the course text is allowed.
The M_o_R Practitioner certification will expire after 3 years. Please See information on Keeping your Certifcations current.
If you are attending a Face to Face course your exam will be a paper-based exam during your course.
If you are attending a Virtual course you’ll be issued an exam voucher to take the exam at a time of your choosing. Please see PeopleCert’s website for the security requirements for the web based exam driver.
This course is eligible for the PeopleCert Take2 scheme, please discuss at point of booking if this is of interest to you.
Please note - it is compulsory to purchase the exam, although discretionary whether you take it.
Pre-Coursework
Several hours of pre-course preparation is required, along with some evening work during the course. The M_o_R® Pre course book will be sent to you 4-6 weeks before the start of the course.Pre-course reading and post-course support on Quanta Learn, our e-learning portal.
Please note, there may be a small amount of evening work to complete such as further reading or working though sample exam papers.
