All the responsiveness and flexibility of Agile combined with the structure and control of PRINCE2

PRINCE2 has long been the de facto way of running projects within the UK. However, in recent years Agile methodologies have gained huge popularity due to their flexibility and responsiveness. This course will show you how you can get the best of both worlds; introducing the basic concepts of using Agile, whilst demonstrating how you can introduce them within the increased structure of a PRINCE2 environment.

Description

Who is this course for

Anybody who works for an organisation that uses PRINCE2, and who wants to learn what the makers of PRINCE2 say about combining Agile with PRINCE2.

You will learn how to

  • Appreciate the basic concepts of Agile ways of working

  • Understand the purpose and context for combining PRINCE2 and Agile

  • Fix and flex the six aspects of a project in an Agile context

  • Apply or tailor the PRINCE2 principles, themes, processes and management products to a project in an agile context

  • Prepare for the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam

Prerequisites

Delegates must provide evidence that they hold any of the following project management certifications: PRINCE2 Foundation, PRINCE2 Agile Foundation, Project Management Professional (PMP)*, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)* or IMPA Levels A,B, C and D (Certified Project Director).

*'PMP' and 'CAPM' are registered marks of Project Management Institute, Inc. (PMI). PMI is not affiliated with AXELOS. PMI does not endorse any AXELOS Qualifications.

Benefits for you as an individual

PRINCE2 is still by far the biggest and most popular way of running projects. However Agile is growing ever stronger, so rather than picking one or the other, opt for PRINCE2 Agile and have the best of both worlds available to you and your projects.

Benefits for your organisation

The environment in which we operate is ever-changing and with technology moving at light speed, it's often not possible to plan projects years or even months in advance. Using PRINCE2 Agile, you can keep the structure and familiarity that PRINCE2 brings, whilst benefitting from the responsiveness that working in an Agile way brings.

PRINCE2 Agile is about being able to react easily to changes within the market, scope your current project and release value to the organisation throughout rather than at key sets points.

  • An overview of Agile
  • Projects and BAU
  • Blending PRINCE2 and agile together
  • Assumptions
