Oracle Server is the market leader for large enterprise wide databases. It has almost become the default choice. It offers scalability and reliability that far exceed the demands of most of its customers. The disadvantage of all this functionality has always been price and complexity. With Oracle 9i things began to change in both of those areas. New low cost versions and easy to manage options have helped many customers, whilst other customers have benefited from improvements in the product´s traditional strengths.
